AL-QURAN AND SCIENCE

Al-Quran has revealed about the matter of universe approximately 1400 years ago. The existence of an initial gaseous mass (dukhaan) about how the universe were formed billion years ago has been stated in the Quran. Modern science said that the separation process resulted from the multiple universe. As the formation of nebula which is a galactic dust, the element separated to form the galaxies and the star and then planet. Allah created all of the universe in only six days as stated in the Quran (7:54). About the dukhaan (the gas or smoke) in the (41:11) similar to the scientific research which reveal the formation of the universe. About orbit that enable the planet to circling or move around the sun or star and also the gravitational force and the speed of the planet move. Although Allah did not mention the speed or how many kilometre per minutes that the planet travelled but He did mentioned about the planet move with the same speed and without extra or less speed in the Quran (36:38). The day and night, the moon and the sun that happened in our daily life. The system of the universe which each of them travelling in an orbit according to its circle line in (21:33). The earth moving around itself also stated in the Quran about how day and night occurred. The space journey is possible, we can see now people which is our astronaut lives in the ISS for six month to do research about space and to gain more knowledge. These all happened with the authority of our Creator. Allah have said to the jins and men, if they can penetrate the regions between heaven and earth, then penetrate them, (55:33). From this, we know that the journey to the space is possible due to this ayah.

The  about the water cycle, since we all have been taught about the water cycle on where are the water from the river came from. It actually come from the water of ocean which then evaporate to the above and form the cloud. The cloud were blown by the wind to the mountain and it release the water from it and the soil absorbed the water into the earth and stored it. Then the water come out to form the river and that water is the water that we have been use until now to bath, drink, wash and more. This foundation has been stated in the Quran (39:21) though the Bernard Palissy who claimed that he is the one who discovered the water cycle in 1580 but this system have been explain in Quran before him.

The stability and the formation of mountain and we have learned this thing in our school on how the earth, the process of folding that causes the phenomenon of mountain to form. In Quran (78:6-7), the word stakes (awtaad), which are driven to the ground like how anchor hold the ship or a tent and that is the basis of the foundation of the folding system to form mountain.

As we know the 70 percent of the earth are covered by the water including sea and river. In all living things on the earth also have water inside their bodies, either plant or animal or human, we all are made from water. Quran (21:30). The modern scientific also proves that water is the origin of life as the human also made up of 70 percent of water inside their body. Also about the plant, though the old science or botanical are not advanced that well but all the plant are come in pairs which are male and female so that they will fertilise to form a flower and then a fruit. Quran (20:53, 13:3). Allah have said that the plant come in pair just like us human which come in the form of two either male or female and to have a children they need to fertilise first similar to the plant.

The human reproductive system by Harvey, de Graaf and then Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, although they claim as a man who discovered the reproduction but the Quran have revealed this system long time ago on how the zygote was formed due to the fertilisation of ovum, the embryo, the fetus, the baby. Quran (23:14), how Allah said, the formation are from then a clot, a lump (flesh), a bone and then the creation (baby). Nothing are contradict with the scientifically discovered, all of the process similar to what have been written in the Quran. 

In conclusion, the Quran and science are interrelated to each other.

(7:54) – Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day,

chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.

(41:11) – Then He directed Himself to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, “Come [into being], willingly or by compulsion.” They said, “We have come willingly.”

(36:38) – And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.

(21:33) – And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all

in an orbit are swimming.

(55:33) – O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority

(39:21) – Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky and makes it flow as springs [and rivers] in the earth; then He produces thereby crops of varying colours; then they dry and you see them turned yellow; then He makes them

debris. Indeed in that is a reminder for those of understanding.

(78:6-7) – Have We not made the earth a resting place? And the mountains as stakes?

(21:30) – Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?

(20:53) – [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants.

(13:3) – And it is He who spread the earth and placed therein firmly set mountains and rivers; and from all of the fruits He made therein two mates; He causes the night to cover the day. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.

(23:14) – Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.
